I know about salmonella. I’ve had salmonella poisoning twice—once from chicken and once, as near as I can tell, from contaminated lettuce.
It hasn’t stopped me from eating lettuce. Or chicken.
In the US, a significant majority of foodborn salmonella outbreaks come from contaminated vegetables. Do you think vegetarians would still be vegetarian if they knew about salmonella?
